HCC achieves tunnel boring on crucial Delhi Metro III project
Infrastructure major, Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) successfully achieved a major breakthrough by day lighting the tunnel on Dwarka-Najafgarh metro corridor. The 665-meter tunnel is part of the ambitious phase III of Delhi Metro.
The tunnel day-lighting event was witnessed by Dr. Mangu singh (MD), Shri Jitendra Tyagi (DW) and Shri Rajan Kataria (CPM).
The Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) was launched at shaft near Sai Baba Temple and emerged out at the shaft near Hanuman Temple of Najafgarh. The same TBM will once again be deployed at the Human Temple end to dig another tunnel parallel to the tunnel completed today.
This is the third contract for underground metro being executed by HCC since October 2012 under the phase III of Delhi Metro. HCC has already completed three contracts under phase I and phase II of the Delhi Metro.
The scope of work for Package CC-66, which is underway, includes construction of 224 meter open ramp, 219 meter covered ramp including a launching shaft, tunnel by EPBM method for 665 meter length, Cut & Cover 198 meter and station box of 288 meter. The contract also includes construction of one of the biggest underground station namely Najafgarh which is 290 meters long and 30 meters in width.

British High Commissioner visits JCB factory in Delhi
The British High Commissioner to India, Sir Dominic Asquith KCMG, visited JCB India Headquarters on the 16th of June 2016. The High Commissioner was on an official visit to JCB India Limited, India’s leading manufacturer of earthmovingand constructionproducts.
Visiting the JCB Headquarters, he said, “JCB has had a remarkable story of manufacturing in India through its journey spanning over three decades. These yellow diggers are contributing immensely to India’s infrastructure and I am delighted to be here at JCB’s state-of-the-art facility at Delhi.”
Speaking on the occasion, JCB India Limited’s MD and CEO, Mr. Vipin Sondhi said, “It is a great privilege for JCB to have Sir Dominic Asquith with us at the world’s largest Backhoe Loader manufacturing plant. The new Terex® Cedarapids CRC1150
portable cone plant delivers big production at a practical price. The highly mobile plant features the new TC1150 cone crusher that utilizes high efficiency roller bearings and boasts several notable advancements that enhance performance and functionality. New key features include automated cone controls and larger closed side settings. The crusher is powered by a 300 hp motor and drive, all mounted on a rubber isolated frame. The new Terex® Cedarapids CRH1313R delivers big production and has the versatility to handle rock crushing, concrete recycling, and asphalt recycling. The highly mobile plant is a complete stand-alone closed-circuit unit with three product capability. The plant features a high production Cedarapids IP1313 impactor with a 3 or 4 bar 50” (1270 mm) rotor powered by a Tier 4, 450 hp (335 kW) diesel engine, direct drive to crusher, and 200 hp (150 kW) generator. Uptime is maximized with a heavy-duty undercrusher pan feeder that protects the conveyor belt from damage by absorbing the high velocity discharge from the crusher.
